Hi Iyah here and I’m a proud Taguigeno
Here in Hagonoy Taguig we have a lot of places that you might check out and activities that you won’t like to miss. Let’s start with this enjoyable and exciting Ati atihan. Every 3rd Sunday of January, ( Sto. Nino’s day ) we celebrate Ati atihan festival together with Sto.Nino’s day. Everyone dress up their Sto. Niño and they dance it. And it is also amazing that seeing a lot of straight guys wearing a dress and put makeups on their faces.
Here in Hagonoy where I first saw this kind of event. I remember when I joined Ati atihan we were given free costumes and a small amount just to join Ati Atihan. It was exciting and It was conducted by a no politician person named Ka Lucy Franco, since then and now she is still committed to this kind of festival.
One thing makes me proud of living in Hagonoy is that we have Ka Luring Lureana Franco. Ka Luring has a pure heart and she was my religion teacher in elementary. She is a Cathechist and she is a candidate to become a saint but unfortunately, until now no one submitted a testimony even miracles happened.
When it comes to a food one of the most delicious tapsilog in town. Tapsilogan ni Ka Mater. It is the oldest tapsilogan in Hagonoy it was established by hers truly Ka Mater and now operated by her grandson. Their delicious Tapa and sizzling atay balunan is my most favorite menu. Who will forget the best cochang, puto and kalamay of Ka Dama which is made by rice. Conchang is really yummy and when you bite or taste it, it melts in your mouth. Until now they are accepting orders but made by her daughter and granddaughter. Will you believe that Hagonoy has “balutan” and it was owned by Ka Ape and Larry Bautista? Yes! We are also lucky because we don’t need to go to Pateros just to buy balot. And not only balot they also cater itlog na maalat, penoy and my all time favorite bibingkang abnoy. Have you heard the name Ka Maneng? If not? You missed one of the most lugawan in town. Ka Maneng’s Lugawan is also the oldest lugawan in our barangay and there are a lot of people from other barangays and city visited Ka Maneng’s Lugawan because of uniqueness and delicious taste of their lugaw. If you love to eat grilled foods you can visit Capistrano Street and look for Ate Tess, she continue her nanay’s business. You can try their yummy betamax, intestines, chicken feet and a lot. Their sauce are very delicious it has a lot of onions which will you love to eat.
Hagonoy has their own Parish known as St. Michael Archangel Parish and the oldest statue of St. Michael Image in the Philippines is also here in our Parish. Every May we celebrate Feast of Hagonoy to thank Po Ige. (St.Michael).
Hagonoy’s Barangay hall is also located near the school and parish this is well-renovated barangay this year, our health center is located in Capistrano.
Do you know that Hagonoy has a gymnasium which we are proud of? CP Tinga Sports Complex known now as CP Tinga Gymnasium. A lot of occasions was held in this gymnasium like JS Prom, Concert, PBA and even weddings was conducted here.
For education we have Ciriaco P Tinga Elementary School where I graduated my primary and now this school was renovated and new buildings was built. I remember a lot of good memories in this school specially when field day is coming. And it has a small fish pond inside the school which you will see cute turtles. Taguig Science High School commonly called Tagsci is also located in Hagonoy.
It specialized secondary science school and focus in Science, Mathematics and English Curriculum. The Fisher Valley College is also located here in Hagonoy where you can enroll your graduated child from Tagscie going to College. Of course, if you are looking for amazing and awesome pools to celebrate birthdays or even for bonding Sea Breeze Resort is here to pamper your summer and even rainy season. You may also check their event hall if you wish to have an airconditioned event place for weddings, proms, birthday or even meetings.
The good thing about living in Hagonoy is, it is so easy to go to a doctor or clinic if you are sick. Why? Because we have Doctor Rolando Paac also known Doctor Paac. He is one of the best doctors in our town, a Family Physician and an OB Gyne. Very easy to communicate with him. I can say that he is a doctor on call no off as long as he is in Hagonoy Taguig even Sunday he will entertain you and assist you with your concern. For your babies and kids, Doctor Cindy Santos Juat together with her husband is there to assist you with your kid’s condition. Doctor Cindy is the daughter of the late Doctor Ely Santos one of my best doctor he makes his own medicine. If you go to his clinic you will not be notified about the name of the medicines but he will explain it to you by size and color how to drink it.
For transportation only Barangay Hagonoy Taguig has pedicabs. And for a minimum of 5 pesos for adult and minimum of 3 pesos for kids, you will be drop off to your destination.
Hagonoy has also a small talipapa which you can buy fresh fish, meat, and even vegetables. And for the people who are living in gitna and Capistrano who will not forget Manay. I can say that she is one of the legacies in terms of selling fresh foods. Since I was a kid she has her own mini fresh food store and until now that I have kids she is still in the legacy.
And guest what Hagonoy has a lot of new establishments it has 7/11, Puregold mini, pawnshop, drugstore, parlors, hardware, laundry shop, water station and even lotto outlet. I can say that everything that you need is here in hagonoy and it’s not far from each of everyone’s house just ride pedicab and you will be able to get there.
Hagonoy also has Taekwondo Gym it is also located in Capistrano – Libis. This is a good practice for those who would like to be a black belter someday.
And lastly here in Hagonoy Taguig, I witnessed that every neighbor here treated each other as their relatives even they are not. And they know how to value each and every one and that what makes me love my barangay.
