Do you know that there is a small barangay in Taguig City? A small barangay with a lot of livelihood and wealth, a small barangay but sure you have a lot of things to do. Barangay Napindan is one of the barangay in Taguig City.
Napindan Taguigg has 7 Areas or what we called in our native language Purok, one is on the other side that you need to board the boat to get there. This is the Sais. Before, In the beginning, there are a handful of people who live here in Barangay Napindan until it was discovered and gradually settled.
In the old days, we suffered from a flood that lasted for several months and this hampers the development of our barangay, sometimes flood are chest high, but after our town become a city the administrator at that time started building dike, pump station and roads along the shore line of Laguna
bay, now this greatly helped our Barangay, now there is no more flood here now
I can say that Barangay Napindan Taguig is now getting better and continue to develop into one of the top barangay in Taguig City. Here in Barangay Napindan Taguig, we have two different churches, different religion but has similarities. The first is the Roman Catholic Church or The Fisherman Church which is located in the first area of barangay.
How We Celebrate Our Fiesta
The feast or feast of St. Peter is held every 29th of the June. There is a pagoda where the St. Peter was put in the river on a big boat. Those people who joined the river festival will throw fruits at the people who are watching them, this is very enjoyable and exciting everyone is shouting and waiting to catch the fruits. There is also a boat in front of it, a procession and more. Another church or religion is called Aglipay Church or San Isidro Church it is located in Area 2.
The San Isidro festival is held every 15th of the May. There are games, bandiritas, the procession of San Isidro and many more. Here in Barangay Napindan, we also have Iglesia ni Kristo which is located in Area 1 of barangay. Imagine even we have different religions here we don’t discriminate but still, we treat each other as one family.
Every Holy week all the figures of Saints are outside the church for people to see it. You need to watch it overnight to make it your oath. If you ever get hungry. The Quiambao family is there to give penoy and juice every holy week because that is there vows since their childhood days School was expanded and more beautiful before it is just an elementary school but now there is high school and it is called Integrated school.
The court was expanded and beautified the area for the youth to play better and they will not be on a wrong path. It is located in Area 3. If you do not want to cook, delicious dishes that you want are here in area 4. Our renovated Barangay is located in Area 1 Labao Street and of course our barangay has their own Health Centers and Daycares too we have a good supply of medicines and of course we also have our own ambulance.

Are you aware that one of the historical landmarks of Taguig will be seen here in Barangay Napindan? If not, then let me introduce to you the “Parola”. In the 17th century, Parola was built and it stands guard at the mouth of Napindan Channel where Pasig River crosses with Laguna Lake. And it was also chosen by KKK Supremo Gat Andres Bonifacio as a meeting place because it was the most accessible channel from Tondo, Manila and from Municipals along the Pasig River and the Province of Laguna truly Napindan Taguig is rich in a historical landmark.
Years had passed and there are a lot of changes that happened to Barangay Napindan, it has a lot of factory and company that was built around it and this helped our barangay to become commercialized there were positive reports that we will soon be built a marketplace hub along C6 road. I am so proud of my beloved Barangay Napindan Taguig City because this is where I was born and my ancestor dwell and make a name for themselves, We used to have a very narrow street here in our Barangay but since Taguig become a city our administrator has widen and make the road passable and they continue to develop a new ward and new roads, we are now connected to C6 or circumferential road, now this could bring us more access to neighboring Barangay, there was a time, the only entry and exit point was the Labao street going to Tipas..
